About The Author

Jack Lindquist

My name is Jack Lindquist. I am a retired 69-year-old history buff from Alberta, Canada. Linda, my wife of fifty years and I have two children and five grandchildren. I retired in 2019 and started writing my first book in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Over the course of my lifetime, I owned and operated 2 successful businesses, but it was my love for the country life that was my passion. I love western history and the simplicity and integrity of the western lifestyle which I got to experience raising cattle and horses on our ranch. During that time, I raised horses from birth, through breaking and riding using the Pat Parelli Natural Horsemanship method. This close bonding technique is recognizable in my books. Historical authenticity is paramount in the retelling of stories of the Native American peoples, and I have stayed true to the culture and prejudices of the times.

My first book, Valley of the Turtle Shirt Men, was self-
published in December 2022 and is book one of a 3-part series. The second book, Rise of Riverhorse, is now also published and available for purchase online. The third instalment of the Jess Rivers Trilogy, The Ranger Years, is set for publication in 2025.
